Today I wanted to share the homeschool log/planner that I created for our new school year. I decided to go digital because I create a digital portfolio. It'll be easier at the end of the year to export my file to the portfolio. Rather than taken 45 pictures, I'll attach one file.
I've made a previous digital planner, but it never worked well. It was too detailed, that I didn't like using it. Yes, that's such a thing. Now, I have just the information that I record. Simple, yet effective.
I've used the same planner for the past five school years, so I basically created how I use that to work with how we school. We will be doing three, 12-week terms, so I made three slides for each term. I left open space on each slide so I can write in each terms focus areas.
I also created a notes section for each term. Block number one will be for week one and so on. In each block, I'll write specific notes for that week. If we went on a field trip, it'll be highlighted in that. If a child had a lightbulb moment, it'll be highlighted. As well as hard times learning something. If I come across a great test question for the end of the term, I'll also jot it down.
Finally, I created a slide to keep track of our subjects. I put 12 under each term. I like to group subjects. For example, Lang Arts block will have grammar, writing, vocabulary, and reading. Science will have arts, steam, and their science lessons. I did break down history and geography because we're going big in these areas and it'll be easier to have them separated. Also, if I don't need both boxes, I can cover up one and use the row for something else.
I made this in powerpoint, saved it as a pdf and will use it in Goodnotes. I love Goodnotes!
