Xander at 8

Xander is my snuggly, determined, and intelligent first-born.

He gives the best snuggles every morning, day and/or night.  He'll randomly walk up to me, stop me in my tracks, and give the sweetest quick-snuggle.  It gives me the best mid day pick me up.  Sometimes just what I need to change my mood for the day.

He loves stuffed animals.  Especially those giant ones that take up half his bed.  They are his protectors as he sleeps and his wrestle buddies during the day.

Little man is determined.  He's determined to have his way.  When he's working on something, he is committed to finishing whatever task he set out to do.  He wants things when he wants them.  No patience.  Having such determination has been to his advantage.  While he was learning gymnastics, he quickly moved levels because he was dead set on learning all the moves.  He made it to the boys team in two months!

This boy is smart!  Just like his daddy.  Being his teacher this last year has showed me how much he soaks in.  He wants to know about everything.  His mind is spinning and full of questions.  Which is a good thing.  I love watching his "light bulb" go off when we're learning something new.  He gets excited to continue learning it.  Just the other day he asked me how a firefly glows.  Thanks to google I was able to give him a scientific answer that fulfilled his question.
