I didn't manage to take many pictures throughout July. July was a crazy weather month for us. We had a lot of rain and thunderstorms along with some high heat. We learned to swim early in the day to miss the 4pm storms.
We wanted to watch the fireworks from the pool, but all we could do was hear them. So the kids ran to the front and watched from the road.
We made BBQ pulled pork and it was delish...one of mine and Sterling's favorite meals. It's on the menu for today, since we're having a heat wave and I'm not turning on the oven.
Another favorite has been steak and baked potato. So good.
Every morning I do work in the back and take one of the dogs with me. This particular morning Bella joined me and sat on the wall watching me. When I turned around it was funny in the moment.
Earlier this year I bought some dried sourdough starter. It worked out well and then summer came and I don't bake breads often because of how high the temperature needs to be. So, I let it sit in the back of the fridge all summer. I decided over the weekend I'd take it out and try to refresh it. Well, it worked. But then I decided to throw it out (I just wanted to see if it'd grow). We're not huge sourdough fans and just can't get on the bandwagon of it. We'll just enjoy regular yeasted baked goods.
On Monday we started our new school year. Sterling and I were twinsies.
I made them a German Pancake...so delicious and perfect brain power for the first day!

We had a great first day of our new school year. Although the next two days didn't go the greatest, I have figured out what I need to do. Fill them up with lots of protein.
Have a great weekend!
