It's been awhile

Since I last blogged, we have visited with family in preparation for our big move across the ocean.

We stayed in Florida for a week after our cruise and spent time with my parents.  We kept it low key and enjoyed relaxing from all the hustle and bustle from being on a cruise for 8 nights.

One thing we knew we had to do was to carve pumpkins for Halloween.  It's a must, right?!

We dressed up and went trick or treating.  Being in Florida, it was hot, but they still had a great time!

Xander was so excited to be a Navy Seal.

Against the kids' wishes, we still worked on school during vacation.

We then headed to Mississippi to visit Nicks mom.  While we were so close to New Orleans, we decided to take a day and take the kids.  We went on a Monday, when all the fun stuff is closed, but we still managed to have a great time.

The kids saw the hop on, hop off busses and had to go on them.  Since we couldn't really figure out what to do, we decided to.  They loved it!  It did get cold about a half hour until it was over, but other than that, it was a good experience.

On Tuesday, we headed back home.  We decided to make the 13 hour drive in one day.  It wasn't all that bad, but we were glad when we pulled into the driveway.

We still have a trip to make to visit with Nick's dad.  After that trip, we'll be done with traveling until our big move.  I'm excited for that!  As much as I love traveling and visiting family and new places, I'm ready to stay home for awhile.  I'm really excited to be home on Christmas morning this year.  It'll be our first time in a very long time.
